Godzilla; a 328 feet high mutant green dinosaur that weighs around 60,000 tons is making its comeback to the big screen. First seen in Japanese director IshirÃ… Honda’s 1954 film Godzilla and has reappeared time and time again; with a more recent performance in 2004’s Godzilla: Final Wars. Well Monsters director Gareth Edwards has decided to take on the iconic monster and give it a contemporary, Hollywood twist.
According to Empire, the director has stated, “The thing that’s so interesting is that Godzilla has evolved since the original one in the ‘50s, so there is the opportunity to bring it up to date. But we want to stay true to the fanbase as well and I’m a fan of the Toho films.”
Along with Edwards, the project will feature three screenwriters including the Expendables series writer David Callaham, The Dark Knight trilogy writer David S Goyer and newcomer Max Borenstein. Together, these three creative genius’s have the ability to make an extraordinary Godzilla film.
So when we will get to see this shiny new remake? Well unfortunately not until May 16th 2014! But don’t worry because the whole film is going to be shot in 3D to make it even more spectacular. How exciting!
