Godzilla 2 has received it’s official release date.
Legendary and Warner Bros. have confirmed that the film will be released 8 June 2018.
It serves as the sequel to Godzilla, which was directed by Gareth Edwards‘ and released in May 2014. It has since earned more than $500 million at the box office in the past few months.
The films are part of the reboot of the franchise.
While details of the plot remain for the most part a secret, it has been confirmed that Rodan, Mothra and Ghidora will all feature in the sequel.
It is likely that Edwards’ will start work on the film once he has finished working on the Star Wars spin-off, which is slated for a December 2016 release.
