Scott Derrickson‘s latest film, Deliver Us From Evil, releases its first clip and it does not give much away.
The clip shows a young girl playing with a seemingly harmless Jack-in-the-box (when are they ever harmless in horror films). When the creepy music plays you expect a jump scare or something sudden but as the tune ticks along the lights flicker in the bedroom and the door slams, the little girl cries out as you can hear a muffled growling. Her mother hears the screaming and runs to the rescue where the little girl tell her: “I heard growling again.” Meaning that this has happened more than once.
While it doesn’t give away much of the film it does show how much suspense we can expect from Derrickson‘s upcoming flick.
The film stars Eric Bana as a Police officer in New York who teams up with a Priest to try and investigate why the city is becoming victim to Demonic events.
