Novelist Chuck Palahniuk has recently revealed that the script for a Fight Club sequel has gone to Matt Fraction and an unnamed publisher for a once-over.
Alahniuk’s 1996 novel, made so gloriously into David Fincher’s movie three years later, will form the basis of a seven-issue, 210-page run written with Fraction’s guidance. The comic-book writer has been working as advisor and consultant to the long-form novelist.

Plans for the sequel were first announced by Palahniuk on a Comic-Con panel back in July: “Nowadays, Tyler is telling the story, lurking inside Jack and ready to launch a comeback,” he explained of a set-up ten years after the book and movie left off. “Jack is oblivious. Marla is bored. Their marriage has run aground on the rocky coastline of middle-aged suburban boredom. It’s only when their little boy disappears, kidnapped by Tyler, that Jack is dragged back into the world of Mayhem.”
“It will, of course, be dark and messy. Due to contract obligations it can’t come to light for a while. But since the Fight Club sequel will appear serialised in graphic form, my book publisher might allow me to launch it earlier than 2015.”
A release date is currently unknown, however with the increase of information, it’s likely to be revealed in the coming weeks.
