Directed by the genius that brought us Billy Elliot & The Hours, Stephen Daldry’s new drama Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close will bring tears to the eyes. Set in 2001 in the midst of the terrorist attacks on America, Oskar (Thomas Horn) believes that his recently deceased father and best friend (Tom Hanks) has left a final message to him somewhere in New York City. Spurred on by grief and a mysterious key, Oskar goes on a quest to find the lock that fits the key found in his father’s closet. However, this quest forces Oskar to grow up quickly and appreciate the world his father left behind.
