However, after much deliberation and stalling over payment deals, series creator Doug Ellin has confirmed by Twitter on Monday that the movie is back in the works with the words “It’s a go. Love to you all”
A script was originally written a year after the finale at the back end of 2012 and was set six months after the last episode, however a major factor of getting the go-ahead has mainly been down to the cast’s wages.
Jeremy Piven, who plays super-agent Ari Gold, was the main cause for concern with his original deal offered rejected by the actor who is now arguably the biggest star of the show, winning a Golden Globe and three consecutive Emmys for playing Ari. He also recently starred in the ITV/PBS period drama Mr Selfridge, which again meant that filming had to be delayed.
This has now all seemingly been resolved now though following Ellin’s quote and picture of the cast all back together again.With the rest of the lads Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara and Kevin Dillon all signed up as well, we can now see what the film will have in store for the 5 boys from Queens with filming scheduled to start in January of next year.
