Nowadays we seem to get most of the latest Disney film news from their CEO Bob Iger and their recent quarterly stockholders meeting was no different. Following the assembly, some big news has been announced regarding their recently purchased franchise, Star Wars.
Alongside the originally planned trilogy, Disney will also now be releasing at least three Star Wars spin-offs over the next decade.
With Episode 7 scheduled for release next December and the studio previously confirming their intentions to release a movie each year, this could mean that we may get to see one of these as soon as 2016.
Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg have been developing ideas for the spin-offs for almost a year, but nothing official has been confirmed yet. There have been strong rumours about a Boba Fett or Han Solo feature however, but this seems to be wishful thinking from the fans more than anything.
The yet unnamed Episode 7 is out on 18 December 2015.
