A biopic of The Who’s explosive and charismatic drummer Keith Moon is now being developed thanks to a new, major deal sealed between Exclusive Media and Da Vinci Media Ventures. The film, which will trace the drummers wild and often self destructive life, has been in the pipeline for some time now but has suffered numerous set backs over the years. In the past, actor Mike Myers had been pipped to play the part of Keith Moon but such ideas have as yet not been put into action.
While there is still no set cast or or any dates to begin shooting, this deal between Exclusive and Da Vinci now signals a significant turning point in the Keith Moon biopic saga and offers the crucial financial backing for any plans for the film to come to fruition. The Who’s frontman, Roger Daltrey, is also enthusiastic about the development of the film and has been collaborating with Exclusive Media.
Indeed, fans of The Who and of Keith Moon’s drumming will be delighted to hear these new developments. Moon’s drumming has been considered by many to have been innovative and cutting edge as well as having undoubtedly influenced many great drummers both past and present. His incredible skill and explosive style were only ever matched by his wild and charismatic personality, making him one of the most entertaining drummers of all time. It only seems right then that this biopic is produced to pay homage to such a drumming icon and treat audiences to the audio and visual spectacle that is Keith Moon.
