Damon Lindelof of Lost, Star Trek and the recent hotly debated Prometheus has been hired to perform extensive rewrites for Brad Pitt’s upcoming World War Zm, a film loosely based on the novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, by Max Brooks.
Originally adapted by screenwriter Matthew Michael Carnahan, known for The Kingdom and Lions for Lambs, emphasis has been placed on the word “loosely” since the film’s plot sounds nothing like the book; aside from zombies, and people fighting zombies. The rewrites may end up rushing the post production timing, or pushing back the release date, as the film has already wrapped shooting and is scheduled for a summer 2013 release.
