With Steven Spielberg confirming last month that his next project would be the adaptation of Roald Dahl’s book, The BFG, another film seems to have appeared on his horizon with the Coen Brothers have also signed on to write the script.
The yet-to-be-titled film will be based on the true-life, Cold War tale of lawyer James Donovan who was thrust into the Cold War when he had to mediate the release of a crashed U2 plane pilot, Gary Powers.
The story has been knocking about Hollywood for a while now and with DreamWorks last year buying the rights, this may get greenlit sooner rather than later.
Tom Hanks has also been sniffing around a role and given his extremely successful collaberations with Spielberg in the past this could be something of a winner.
The Coen’s are currently working on Angelina Jolie’s next director gig, Unbroken which is out in the UK on December 26.
