Cannes Film Festival contender Clouds of Sils Maria has released its first trailer for the world to see. Parisian director Olivier Assayas leads this delicate drama about age, show business and the importance of fame.
The film follows Maria Enders, an famous actress who started her career with the play Maloja Snake. Enders played the role of Sigrid, a determined young woman whose ambition lead her older friend Helena to suicide. Now, twenty years later, Ender is approached to play the role of Helena in a revival, a decision that she does not take lightly.
With her ageing looks, confusing relationship with her personal assistant Valentine and young actress Jo-Ann Ellis taking her limelight, Maria starts to wonder about her life and the future of her career.
Clouds of Sils Maria stars the incredible talents of Juliette Binoche as Maria, Chloe Grace Moretz as Jo-Ann Ellis and Kristen Stewart as Valentine and will be released state side later on in the year. However, if it is successful in Cannes, we shall expect to see it here sooner rather than later.
