As the Juliet to Romeo, adding the ‘star‘ to Stardust, and currently keeping viewers hooked on her intense character in Homeland; it was about time Claire Danes stepped into the limelight and showed off that high class style.
Having already wowed with Vogue’s November cover, Danes adds to her repertoire with a sexy cover shoot for Interview magazine while scoring some high class glamour in the process. As the dark horse of the fashion circuit, the 34 year old stuns for the gold inspired shoot.
Looking sultry with her golden locks flowing and decked in a wealth of metallic accessories, Danes models a wealth of Hollywood glamour, wearing a sharp tuxedo for one of the images – having only her hands to protect her modesty but pulling it off with effortless sophistication.
Combining jet black nails with strong copper-toned lips, the Gothic inspired photoshoot was no challenge for the actress, who says her current role, although challenging at times, leaves her with feelings of ‘euphoria.’
Speaking with screen legend, Dustin Hoffman for the featured interview Danes describes the transition from working on My So Called Life to Homeland.
‘I was the same age as the character. There was an incredible symmetry between us-unlike Carrie Mathison, who in no way resembles me. I would be the worst case officer on the planet. I am so ill-suited to Carrie’s vocation. But Angela Chase was just another high school student,’ she says.
‘I’d actually only done one series before Homeland and I was 14 when I did it, and we only made 19 episodes-so Homeland has really been my first time aging with a character and experiencing her develop and change.’ She added: ‘
I know Mandy Patinkin’s (her character’s boss and mentor Saul Berenson) process-I know his music and how to run and to play with it. It’s such a gift to get to know an actor over this many years-and always in a new context. It’s like being in a marriage.’
Describing the role of Carrie as, ‘exhausting but also exhilarating‘, the mother of one says she was inspired by Youtube video diaries, stating; ‘I think they are just up in the middle of the night and need to talk, so they talk into the camera on their computer. I think a lot of these people are also very eager to share what they’re going through because I’m sure it is quite isolating and scary at times. So I would just binge on these.’
