Disney are going back to their anthropomorphic roots, with their brand new animal comedy; Zootopia, set for release in 2016. With Tangled director Byron Howard in the directors chair and Wreck-It Ralph producer Clark Spencer alongside; Zootopia is set to be a promising vintage Disney tale.
Based in a world populated by animals, Zootopia follows criminal pest Nick Wilde (a fox), whose daily struggle is to not get caught by Lt. Judy Hop (a rabbit). While we know nothing about the narrative of the film, we do know that Howard is working with TV writer Jared Bush to bring the characters to life.
When asked what inspired the story, Howard stated,
“I think all of us have a strong connection with animals. When Jared and I started working together on the movie that was one of the key things that we bonded over. We love this animal world. Jared and I undertook about 18 months’ worth of research, really diving into the world, which fed the story. We knew we wanted to do a comedy, we knew we wanted it to be smart, and modern, and a world no-one has ever seen before.”
No cast has been connected to Zootopia but when we find out more information we will let you know!
