Films based on video games are always a tricky and difficult thing to achieve. The right cast to portray the larger than life characters, the right setting, and somewhat realistic script are all integral to its success. One of the most important factors is keeping actual gaming clips out of the movie (see: House Of The Dead).
So, the folks over at Ubisoft have decided to develop Assassin’s Creed into a flick, and want to produce it as an indie first, then shop around for studios to buy it. What’s one way this can be successfully achieved? Get Michael Fassbender to throw some money into it and star. The man is an acting machine since his quick rise to stardom (and rightfully so, as his performances always steal the show). Absolutely nothing else has been released as of yet, and who knows if this will even play out; but if Fassbender will get behind Assassin’s Creed the movie, so will we.
