Hit The Floor have managed to get a sneak peak at Ang Lee’s new adaptation of the bestselling novel Life Of Pi! After batting off every director known to man with its impossibilities, Ang Lee took one for the team and decided that it was time that Life Of Pi hit the big screen. The first look at the film see’s young unknown actor Suraj Sharma playing the role of Pi and a 450lb Bengal tiger on a rather clean lifeboat sailing the seas. With the serene feel and the dreamlike colours, the image gives nothing away about how Lee will overcome the impossibilities seen by other directors such as M. Night Shyamalan and Jean-Pierre Jeunet but it is intriguing.
Now Life Of Pi is not necessarily a surrealist text but it does make you question what you believe to be real and challenges the reader to accept the unexpected. It will be intriguing as to how Ang Lee portrays the novel and personally I can’t wait to see the feature! The film has been set to release around Christmas time this year!
