Innovative and charitable eyewear brand Warby Parker is celebrating a milestone. This week, the company, which was founded in 2010, announced that it had distributed one million pairs of glasses to those in need through its Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program. The company does so by tallying the number of glasses sold every month and then making a donation to non-profit partners like VisionSpring, who then train people in developing countries to give eye exams, in addition to distributing glasses.
This milestone also means that Warby Parker has sold one million pairs of glasses, a remarkable achievement for a relatively new and small company that hit the 500,000-pair mark just last July. The past year proved fruitful for the company. Warby Parker has opened retail locations across America, it has taken on new investors, and it has also launched a number of fashion collaborations.
Seeing that crazy long lines are a norm inside Warby Parker’s New York stores, we reckon it probably won’t be too long before the brand hits the two million mark.
