Known as the ‘prince of darkness’, Hedi Slimane faced much criticism and raised many fashion industry eyebrows after his appointment as the creative director of Saint Laurent Paris.

However, after his arrival at Saint Laurent Paris; his critics were silenced by the many celebs that chose to dress exclusively in his designs. With a loyal VIP following influencing many customers, Slimane has helped turn the luxury fashion house into one of the most desirable brands to date.

Bloomberg recently revealed that Saint Laurent Paris proved critics and themselves wrong, after the second quarter of fiscal year rounded up to more dresses being sold than predicted. It was also noted that sales for the luxury brand had increased by 29 percent, which is seven percent more than what was estimated.

Slimane had made another creative and business decision when he decided to move the creative studio from Paris to LA; and by the looks of the sale figures, it seems that Hollywood A-listers have been knocking on Saint Laurent’s for the latest delivery of chic and cool collections by the designer.
