News of the final resting place of Peaches Geldof has been revealed. The tragic mother of two, who died on 7th April aged just 25 years old, will be cremated and her ashes scattered in the gardens of Davington Priory, in which her childhood home once stood.
Her mother’s ashes, Paula Yates who died in 2000, were also scattered in the same gardens that held special, happy memories for Geldof and where she used to play as a child.
The plan’s for Peaches’ ashes to be scattered has been arranged by members of her family including her father Sir Bob Geldof, her husband Thomas Cohen and her sisters Fifi, Pixie and Tiger as well as her old nanny Anita Debney.
A source said of Davington Priory: “Peaches’ happiest memories were there – there would be no other place to hold the funeral and have her ashes scattered. The family were all so happy there – it was just idyllic.”
The reason for Peaches Geldof’s untimely death is still uncertain. There has been growing speculation that her sudden death may have been related to her alarming weight loss over recent months.
One friend said: “No one knows exactly how Peaches died but you do worry about the possibility of such things happening to her.”
The family are awaiting the results from the toxicology tests that have been carried out after a post mortem last week proved inconclusive.
Family friends have come together to support the family during this tough time. Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw and TV host and model Alexa Chung have flown back to the UK early to be with the family, cancelling their plans to attend the Coachella festival in California which took place over the weekend.
Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Peaches Geldof and hope that they are left to grieve in peace and privacy in these difficult times.
