Carven has risen to popularity and gained adoration since, Guillame Henry took over as creative director in 2009 for the brand’s revival. The brand is known for being more relatable and approachable, in comparison to other French fashion houses.
Carven’s new digital strategy has only amplified this approachability. On top of launching a new website offering e-commerce in the United States for the first time, the option to pre-order items as soon as they have hit the runway (beginning with Men’s Spring 2015), their social media strategy is also being enhanced by the brand.
Carven has appeared on social media for some time however, you can expect to see a rising presence across all platforms such as: tumblr, twitter, facebook and instagram all in a clever voice. Henry explained via email, “Carven is now a global brand and needs a stronger social media presence“.
In order to get fans accustomed with this voice, the brand have released a short film (seen below) in the style of director Jean-Luc Godard. “Godard was very fresh and had a very French taste, and that’s what we do at Carven” said Henry.
Carven is not the first fashion brand to take their inspiration from Godard. Howver, the film plays true to the brand and is a clever way to gain social media followers.
