The latest designers chosen to receive support from the much-lauded NEWGEN scheme have been revealed.
The winning trio for spring/summer 2015 are Lucas Nascimento, Marques Almeida and 1205, all of whom will, once again, receive catwalk sponsorship from NEWGEN. Danielle Romeril and Ryan Lo also remain on the roster for another season, with both set to receive further sponsorship for SS15.
The BFC have announced two newcomers to the scheme, too; thanks to NEWGEN, Faustine Steinmeiz and Ashley Williams will be holding presentations of their work during the next London Fashion Week.
NEWGEN was founded in 1993 by the British Fashion Council as a launch pad for new designers who, without NEWGEN’s support, might not otherwise have been able to afford to showcase their work in public. The scheme, sponsored by Topshop, has helped to kickstart the careers of the likes of Christopher Kane, J.W Anderson and Mary Katrantzou.
