The Mara Jewellery Take Over

With an eye like a gem-hungry Magpie, the designer at Mara jewellery has created a new collection, which is as beautifully rich and striking as ever.

In the Mara Jewellery brand things are flourishing, with the launch of a new website, the introduction of the Charmed Life collection and the new, Mini Mara jewellery range for children.

Blending elegant, refined beauty with the bohemian, hand-made vibe of jewellery discovered at stalls across the world, Mara’s aesthetic is a perfect combination of luxury and natural materials. The result? A polished, striking style.

Mother of pearl stones, gold charms and leather bracelets tie together the Charmed Life collection; its timeless and simple, and yet, there’s still a youthful prick of energy in the way that the designs have been crafted: a feather shaped necklace, a ball pendant bringing a hint of the three dimensional into play, or a double-strand leather bracelet all portray this striking, artistic viewpoint of simple bracelets and necklaces.

And it’s not just this latest collection that’s charmed its way to our hearts, the use of semi-precious stones in other collections also makes for some stellar pieces of jewellery. Stones including Agate, Lapis and Turquoise bring a worldly richness to pieces, something Miranda, the founder and designer of Mara was inspired by whilst living in Thailand. The bustling streets and market stalls of the sun-soaked destination of beauty provided endless gems of influence that Mara has translated into stunning jewellery. Miranda hand-picks every item, which may be found dotted across the globe and then the collections are designed and made by hand in Bristol; we couldn’t think of a more idyllic process. Side-stepping mass-production, it takes us back to classic, unique craftmanship conceived and delivered all by the same hand.

Mara’s first ever children’s line, Mini Mara completes the jewellery brand’s takeover, with beautiful stone bracelets and delicate charm necklaces catering for the young girls with a magpie eye.

While experiencing the natural beauty of locations such as Thailand isn’t always possible, we can at least indulge in a Mara piece of jewellery to get the same kick of content, looking down at the gem stones or lustrous gold. The price points are a snip of a trip anyway, and the Mara jewellery can be worn day in, or night out for a bit of worldly elegance.
