Pop style icons Katy Perry and Madonna have teamed up to front V Magazines’ cover for their Summer issue this month. In a series of photos there’s a suggested battle for power between the iconic pop Queen and well, Princess, with ropes, ties and a bondage style theme.
The pop duo work the bondage look in leather thigh highs and corsets with a lot of latex thrown in for good measure. Adding to the raunchy flair, the shoot, photographed by Steven Klein and styled by Arianne Phillip, had Katy and Madonna sporting a series of provocative but extremely stylised poses.
The S&M look is perfectly pulled together with Bettie Page fringes, leather gloves and rope, and perhaps most surprisingly both of them pull off the look perfectly.
In the interview in the issue out earlier this week, the Material Girl joked with the California Girl about how her father is still not used to what she does, as she said: ‘I would always say, ”Dad, I’m an artist, I have to express myself. You don’t understand. I think he’s finally come to terms with it. It’s only taken 30 years. He’s like, ”Do you have to simulate masturbation on the bed? Do you have to?” Yes, Dad, I do.”
To which Katy joked: “I haven’t gone that far yet, but maybe under your great mentorship I might reach that point.”
Katy Perry also spoke about the strenuous shoot: “I was sore in my upper body and in my butt area from all that squatting.” To which Madonna replied, “It’s good to be sore in your butt. My neck is sore from that wonderful moment when I was sucking on your heel.” Well okay? Guess Madonna knows best, right?
