Kate Upton has responded to comments from Victoria’s Secret stylist Sophia Neophitou‘s comments about her appearance. Neophitou said she would never cast Kate Upton as a Victoria’s Secret model because she’s “too obvious,” she told the New York Times, “We would never use her. She’s like a Page Three girl, she’s like a footballer’s wife, with the too-blonde hair and the kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy.”
Harsh words! Here’s what Kate had to say about how the comments affected her, “I had just gotten my cover of Sports Illustrated that day,” she told V Magazine. “I wasn’t used to that kind of media swirl. I had never met her, so it really came out of nowhere. It was my introduction to being in the spotlight and having people you’ve never met have an opinion of you.
She has since appeared in the Victoria’s Secret catalogue, though not on the catwalk so hopefully they’ve somewhat patched things up. Let us know what you think about the comments below!
