Kanye West dealt with the demands of one unnamed fashion label who stipulated that he could only watch their latest runway outing if he didn’t attend anyone else’s that season by contacting French electronic duo Daft Punk and collaborating on a track entitled ‘I Am A God‘.
”Cause it’s like, Yo! Nobody can tell me where I can and can’t go,” West told W magazine. “Man, I’m the number-one living and breathing rock star. I am Axl Rose; I am Jim Morrison; I am Jimi Hendrix. You can’t say that you love music and then say that Kanye West can’t come to your show. To even think they could tell me where I could and couldn’t go is just ludicrous. It’s blasphemous – to rock ‘n’ roll, and to music.“
West ran his own fashion brand for two seasons but decided to end business following mixed reviews. He believes that his first collection was much stronger than his second.
“It was more artful. It was 30 collections in one,” he said of his Paris Fashion Week debut. “It just takes time for me to slow down and think like a normal person.“
