With designing duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana having been sentenced to jail time for tax evasion and then being publicly dissed by a Milan city official, Dolce & Gabbana can’t catch a break.
Hoping for an easy ride, the company have had nothing but bad luck as they face even more legal trouble. Pete Fona, writer, producer and star of Easy Rider, is planning on suing the fashion house, after they supposedly produced and sold graphic tees with images from the iconic biker film he starred in.
The tee in question is one of the brand’s more popular designs and features Fona decked out in biker gear with the film’s title. Fona is requesting at least $6 million in damages because he feels that he “suffered injuries to his peace, happiness, feelings, goodwill, reputation, image, loss of fair market value of his services, and dilution of his current and future publicity value.”
With these t-shirts selling for $295.00 each, who knows what the future has in store for Dolce & Gabbana. Watch this space.
