It is said that mans best friend, is his dog. So it would only be fair for his pooch to be equally fashion savvy as he is.
Husband and wife Dave Fung and Yena Kim, are the proud owners (more like parents) of 4-year old Bodhi, who together created the highly popular www.mensweardog.tumblr.com and are set to be launching a menswear inspired fashion line for our furry friends.
Until now, CEO Bodhi, who is a Shiba Inu, only modeled clothes that were well… made for normal men; however MWD‘s team have found funding through crowdsourcing site Indigo, which is tailor-made for pups. Among the pieces in the collection, is a bright blue, cotton-twill blend blazer, a collared shirt bib and an adjustable bow tie, and the additional benefit to this? The items will also fit you… you’d definitely be ultra cool matching your pooch.
Adding to the already ‘win’ of this collection, is that those who donate towards the $20K goal; i.e Owner and their canine friend, who give $300 will receive a Central Park playdate with Bodhi and some yummy doggy treats. If you are feeling very generous, and decide to donate over $500, you are entitled to a playdate, the full MWD outfit, a signed (or perhaps pawed) poster, postcard and a graphic MWD tee… well that certainly sounds like a bargain to me.
MWD is more than a fashion label, it also encompasses the spirit of giving back and helping Bodhi’s friends. For every Menswear Dog outfit sold, a contribution will be made towards NYC-based non-profit The Rescue Paw Foundation to help support a shelter animal during the winter months.
