Through its latest creation of a short film Chanel validates the place of its staple tweed, pearls and chain bags at the height of the fashion world. In order to showcase Chanel’s new Spring-Summer 2014 pre-collection Karl Lagerfeld has created a short film entitled ‘Fashion Machine’.
The film features models Jamie Bochert, Lindsey Wixson, Soo Joo, Nadja Bender and Ming Xi. Upon entering the machine they are presented in drab black and white giving the perception of a blank canvas. When they emerge from the doors of the double-C emblazoned machine they are in full colour brought to life by Chanel’s stylish garments. They are greeted by director Karl Lagerfeld who is characteristically behind a camera lens viewing his exquisite creations.
This futuristic film may leave us wishing a fashion machine like this was real, however, what it also does is remind us that timeless clothes like the pieces created by French label Chanel not only look chic but they transform us. But that still wont stop us secretly hoping that one day our wish will come true.
