Pictures of British fashion brand Burberry‘s resort 2015 collection have been released. Christopher Bailey, who is the creative director of the company, took inspiration for the collection in literature. With quirky prints and retro fonts like the ones you find on old books in flea markets, Bailey has created a sophisticated collection with a playful twist.
The collection has a mature quality but is combined with a more youthful feel. Sheer, striped separates, dip-dyed lace and plenty of fun textures give the collection a personality that will appeal to the label’s younger faces like Cara Delevigne and Suki Waterhouse. The iconic Burberry trench coat is an essential part of the line up. This season they come in the literature inspired prints in a fresh colour palette of apple greens, browns and white. The pieces are printed with sayings including “Rain or Shine” and “Rolling fields for rainfall and exploration“. There are also matching accessories including printed handbags to accompany the collection.
The luxury fashion label have had an incredibly successful year. The British brand have seen their profits soar, have plans to expand their business in Asia and will be growing their beauty range in a big way over the next year. Bailey has also been promoted recently to chief executive officer at the company but will also maintain his role as the creative director.
Despite the rain references in this collection, it looks to us like things will only get brighter for Burberry in the year to come! View more of the collection in the gallery below.
