We all know that the biggest thing in technology this year is probably the launch of the iPhone 5S, and now we’ve heard that they’re only going and collaborating with one of the top designer brands, Burberry. Ah. An iPhone with Burberry casing? Not really my thing so I think i’ll give it a miss….Oh? Not Burberry casing? No, apparently Burberry and iPhone‘s collaboration is more to do with the newest Apple phones technology.
The camera, to be precise. That’s right, the British heritage brand have signed up to film their spring 2014 runway show. Speaking on the pairing of brands, Burberry‘s Chief Creative Office, Christopher Bailey said
“This collaboration celebrates our relationship and shared foundation in design and craftsmanship. We have a mutual passion for creating beautiful products and unlocking emotive experiences through technology, which has made it intensely exciting to explore the capabilities of iPhone 5S, we’re inspired by what this could mean for the future as we continue to explore the merging of physical and digital experiences.”
The fashionable team have even given us a sneak peek of what to expect by shooting an advert with only an iPhone 5S, and I must say, I am very interested in investing in Apple‘s newest phone on the market, if only just for this specific reason – the camera quality is brilliant! Which, let’s face it, is a must-have on a camera phone….no-one wants blurry, dark pictures of “the.best.night.out.ever”!
And Apple‘s win in this deal? Well, for Burberry, it’s more of a chance to play with the new gadget before anyone else and just a fun way to get their customers attention. But for Apple, what a better way to advertise their newest and more improved iPhone than with one of the biggest fashion designers, where the biggest names in the business will get to see all it’s wonderful features (such as iSight® camera which Burberry will be filming with) and run straight to the shops and spend all their pennies on it? I know it would convince me…
