Following successful makeup ranges and fragrances such as Brit Rhythm, Burberry are the taking the obvious next step with the British fashion house getting ready to create their own skincare line. Burberry’s beauty lines have been a success for the brand since they bought them back in-house in late 2012 following a licensing agreement with Inter Parfums SA.
“We are talking to a range of possible partners about a range of possible relationships,” said Burberry chief operating officer John Smith on the plans of the skincare line.
Furthermore following a pleasing set of full-year Burberry figures and a successful year for the British brand, the fashion house also plans to open a second Beauty Box Store in Asia next year; following the launch of the first store in London’s Covent Garden in December 2013.
Although it is still unclear what the cost of the skincare products might be, Burberry plan to hold a luxury positioning in the already saturated market. 26 billion pounds of the 60-billion-pound beauty industry comes from skincare alone, so no wonder Burberry are hoping to tap into the market!
