Andrew Majtenyi’s Romanticism Inspired Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection

When we think about how a fashion designer starts a design, we tend to automatically assume that they go straight for their sketch pad. But that is not the case for designer Andrew Majtenyi, his inspiration comes from touching the fabric, feeling the textures and seeing the colors.

When we think about how a fashion designer starts a design, we tend to automatically assume that they go straight for their sketch pad. But that is not the case for designer Andrew Majtenyi, his inspiration comes from touching the fabric, feeling the textures and seeing the colors.

From the time he apprenticed under master tailor Vincenzo Cardone in late 19th and 20th century tailoring, he was taught advanced draping techniques by Madame Sophie, all of which are evident in his new collection.

To make it all more intricate, he worked with with the National Ballet of Canada where his skills and these influences are on every cut and finish of every piece he creates.

His new autumn/winter collection indeed has all of the qualities of which he known for, softness, balance and romanticism, all of which a ballerina is known for. Lashed with striking colours and bold cuts you can view his collection in full at AndrewMajtenyi.com.
