We’ve all seen music and fashion merge in popular music with the likes of Beyonce, Katy Parry or Lady Gaga, but now it’s time for the other end of the music spectrum to take a turn to the fashion world. AMENRA are known to do everything themselves from production to photography and artwork, but now the band have teamed up with Willy Vanderperre, fashion photographer known for working with Kate Moss and Kanye West as well as many others.
Vanderperre apparently approached the band at one of their shows in Belgium, and offered the chance to work together. Our first instinct is the band declined the offer, but no, to much surprise they announced the collaboration, and are creating a profoundly personal and exposing video set to À Mon Âme from the bands most recent album MASS V.
It’s interesting to see a band who keep their guard up so high to open up their creativity to a someone in the fashion industry. Despite being worlds apart the collaboration worked amazingly, creating such a moving and beautifully crafted video. The merge of heavy music with fashion and art is such a great mix as there is so much to work with. Using Vanderperre’s creative license in this video is genius in itself as we get the emotional feelings of the people featured as well as experiencing his fashion knowledge on how to capture the perfect shot.
