I’ve done a few interviews already, but Black Veil Brides was my biggest so far. We managed to get an interview with them at the beginning of October, and even though it had been planned for a few months, the time flew by. Before I knew it, I was preparing my questions for the show.
They’re quite big in the rock/metal scene, so I was a bit nervous. I tend to go into this thing where I’m not my full self in interviews (likely from nerves), but I really wanted to stay cool and have a laugh with them.
A night or two before the show, I was chatting to Steph (Rock/Metal Editor) about my questions, and we agreed that we needed to make the interview stand out. They get so many interviews with big companies, so all the obvious questions had already been asked. We wanted to give the BVB Army (the fan group) something new, and something the band themselves would also remember as standing out.
Together we came up with an amazing plan; that after the prepped questions, they would give me a BVB MAKEOVER! From the photograph, you can see that they dress quite eccentric, so we knew it would be really fun. I was a bit worried incase they would take offence to the idea, but thought it was definitely worth a shot!
Come the night, I interviewed 2 members of the band, CC the drummer and Jinxx the guitarist. Both were in full dress and very friendly. I didn’t tell them what was coming up in the interview, only that it would be ‘fun’.
When it came to it, I asked nicely for some makeup tips and a makeover. They LOVED the idea and got so excited! It was so much fun and I’m positive they’ll remember it! The crazy english woman who let BVB make her look… well… words can’t describe.
People seem to like it as it’s already had over 5,000 hits on youtube in 8 days. BOOM!
