Spa treatments and facials can be one of the nicest, most relaxing things to do. However, they often come with a pretty hefty price tag and don’t always fit around our daily lives. This is why an at home spa treatment is one of the best ways to give yourself a pamper session, without having to pay an absolute fortune.
I think that it is really important for us to take time out of our busy schedules and dedicate it to ourselves. So often we live life constantly thinking of the next thing on our to do list, and sometimes it is good to take a step back and live in the present, spend some quality times by ourselves and for ourselves.
The Setting
One of the main reasons we go to a spa or have some sort of treatment, is to get a real sense of feeling relaxed. So if you’re planning on having a spa-like session at home, you need to ensure that your surroundings are as relaxed and peaceful as possible, before you begin using any products.
I would suggest planning your at home spa session during the evening. Often it is a little quieter and as the light is fading it is an easy way that you can create a relaxing atmosphere. I would also suggest running a bath and lighting a few candles. The steam and heat from the bath can create a very calm mood, and candlelight is so gentle and soft, it makes me feel relaxed just thinking about it!
The Products
Whilst your bath is running in the background you can pick out your products and decide what sort of home spa treatment you would like. So if you would like to completely relax and unwind you may want to pick out a beautiful smelling Lush bath bomb, and a hydrating yet calming facemask such as the Creamy Coconut one by 7th Heaven.
However, if you feel like you would like some all over TLC you may want to think about using a dry body brush to buff your skin all over, followed by an exfoliating scrub, such as the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub.
The Treatment
Once you have decided what sort of home spa treatment to give yourself, you can then take yourself away into a relaxing spa-like state for as long as required. I really enjoy having a bath and really taking my time applying my facemask, or using an all over exfoliator, trying to create a sense of calm and not rushing anything. I also like to read my book whilst I’m soaking in the bath or put some nice calming music on in the background, to reemphasise that sense of calm and spa-like atmosphere.
