A list of 2015’s most-liked Instagram photos has recently been revealed. And there’s no surprise who is dominating the list: officially, it’s Taylor Swift and Kendall Jenner.
First place on the list goes to Jenner, with that photo of her lying down, hair splayed out into heart shapes.
Taylor Swift has taken second and third place. The second most-liked Instagram picture of the year is a shot of a beautiful bouquet of flowers, sent to Taylor by Kanye West. And in third place? Swift and her boyfriend Calvin Harris, looking all loved-up and adorable. As always.

So, it seems we all love adorable, entertaining photos – they always seem to win those extra points. Undoubtedly, Swifty’s Insta is so popular due to regular cameos from her cats or other half.
The popular photos prove our ongoing lust for happiness and the picture-perfect Hollywood lifestyle. We like to see photos that represent what’s missing in our own lives, or how we’d like our lives to be. But seeing the ‘perfect’ life of celebs doesn’t always make us happy. It’s usually the opposite, because most of us mere mortals cannot live up to the ideals projected by celebrity culture.
Recently we have noticed in the news that many bloggers and Insta-famous types, such as controversial ‘Instagram model’ Essena O’Neill, are trying to change the trend for ‘super perfection.’ People usually forget that no-one wakes up with perfectly done hair and make-up. All of that stuff takes such a huge effort, and causes us more stress as we frantically search for perfection.
While Instagram’s most-liked photos are beautiful and appealing, wouldn’t it be nice if, for once, we reached out and appreciated (and accepted) a more mundane life?
