During the Women In Film’s Crystal + Lucy Awards, actress Nicole Kidman gave some epic advice to tall girls everywhere. Rather than be ashamed of your height, she said that you should stop apologising and start loving how strong it makes you look.
Standing at 5’11, in her speech, she said: “I was afraid of my own power, afraid that it would threaten people, intimidate people. And it’s a great sadness wishing to be less than you actually are. And it’s hard to take on the world when you’re constantly in a battle with yourself. I worked through it…I’m working through it.”
She continued: “I wanted to be the kind of actress with long flowing hair [who] kissed boys, but I was not ready to do the kind of work that threatened anybody.’
Yes! Well, it’s about time someone spoke out about it!
