Over here at The Closet, Instagram is one of our favourite visual resources (and general procrastination tools), but who knew it’d help us find fabulous new comedies for us to watch, too? Our latest discovery is Reasons I Don’t Have A Boyfriend, which hilariously documents #singlegirlproblems that are cringe inducingly relatable, even if you’ve been happily coupled up for years.

Reasons I Don’t Have A Boyfriend – created by Los Angeles funny girls Caitlin Harris and Molly McQueen, who also play the series’ main protagonists – follows the lives of two friends who just can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to romance. And so the misadventures ensue, from busting some guy’s nose due to being ‘too competitive’ (see above) to having to get picked up by your also-single friend after not being able to handle a night in ‘hanging’ (ergo: shotgunning beers and taking too many bong hits) with a bunch of boys. It’s all a bit tongue-in-cheek, of course, but it’s also painfully relatable for anyone who has tried and failed to keep their cool around the opposite sex.

Each episode is around two to three minutes long, meaning it’s perfect for lunch break entertainment or for quickly sharing a laugh over with your mates. The short, sharp comedy fix means it’s highly addictive, which brings us onto the only bad thing about the series: a new episode is drip-fed to us every Tuesday. Ugh, only five more days to wait…
