Katy Perry’s latest track is going to be called ‘1984’, and a lot of people reckon it’s going to be a ‘revenge’ track directed towards Taylor Swift.
Not following? Well, Perry and Swift have had beef with each other for a while. According to Swift, Perry “basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour” by attempting to ‘steal’ some of Swift’s backing dancers.
Consequently, Taylor released a song, ‘Bad Blood’, which was basically the pop equivalent of a diss track about Katy Perry.
Perry isn’t exactly known for being a wallflower, so it’d be pretty unsurprising if she hit back with a song of her own. Although it’s yet to be released, fans predict that ‘1984’ is almost definitely going to be directed towards Swift, especially as the blonde songstress’ latest album is called 1989… hmm!
After Taylor’s comments about the whole backing dancer scandal were publicised, Katy retaliated the following day with a tweet: “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing.” Miaow!
Once the track has been released, we’ll definitely be back to update you on this story. Will the song be about Swift? We think it’s highly likely. But, then again, we may be wrong. Watch this space!
