American alternative band Veridia have come hurtling onto our radar at such a speed. The female led quartet were introduced to us via word of mouth after a friend discovered our mutual love for Halestorm. While the latter are a straight up metal band relying on their guitars and drums, Veridia have brought more to the mix with, at times, a hint of Within Temptation. This sound is particularly noticeable in their track ‘At The End Of The World‘, with a subtle string underlay. The band themselves claim their unique factor is a hint of electronic, and when you bring all of these aspects together, you get a great result.
With only two EPs under their collective belt, and having been together since only 2013, they already have an impressive following, displayed in their Facebook likes hitting over the 22,000 mark. This might be unsurprising given their chance to play with Evanescence and getting Matty Mullins to lend a hand on a track.
Between these famous friends and their infusion of music styles, there is also an emotion and vulnerability to Deena Jakoub‘s voice, that can entice a listening audience closer to the music. Feeling like you can connect to an artist is one of the easiest ways to fall in love with their music and that is exactly what this aspect of their songs achieves. Deena leaves a little of her soul in each song she sings.
