The great gig in the sky has gained another fine addition, with ex Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver front man Scott Weiland now joining it’s ranks. On December 3rd 2015, the rock & roll legend was (according to reports at the time of writing) found in his tour bus having passed away in his sleep. Known as much for his struggles with alcohol and drug addiction as he was his music, here at MOSH, we decided to pick our top 5 tracks which starred the vocalists instantly recognisable sound.
So, turn up your speakers, raise your horns to the sky and join us in remembering Mr. Weiland and the huge contribution he made to the rock and grunge scene over the past three decades.
Slither – Velvet Revolver
For many, the first we ever saw of Scott’s work was with his sleazy yet sexy performances alongside ex Guns ‘n’ Roses members in the form of Velvet Revolver. Slither was the perfect combination of furious rock riffery and filthy grunge screams, showing that this was THE new super-group of the 21st Century. A video that packed in what looks like one of the sweatiest secret shows of all time, topped off with dancing girls and some typically excessive party antics, this track was absolutely demolished by music lovers the whole world over.
