You know those little Facebook adverts you normally ignore? Well this week, one of them led us to Dutch five-piece Destine. The pop-punk quintet, who started in 2007, have compared their music to the likes of Fall Out Boy and All Time Low, but vocalist Robin van Loenen doesn’t loose his accent when he sings giving them a great edge none of these other bands have.
Their Facebook page is currently full of promotion for their third album which they have crowd funded via Indiegogo. Fan managed to donate over the goal, giving the band 107% of the money they needed. One great thing about the project is how aware they are of the fans. The front page details exactly why they need the money, and as much of it as they do. It even includes a little pie chart telling fans exactly what their money will be spent on.
After listening to some of the music they have already put out (there is already two whole albums worth) you can hear an improvement from their early music to the most recent. Their Facebook page contains a collection covering great upbeat pop punk tracks through to tracks like ‘All The People’ leaning heavily on strings to create a slightly ethereal atmosphere but never loosing the Destine sound. This just makes us all the more excited to hear this new album when it comes out in May.
