Taking Back Sunday will come crashing onto stages in the UK an Ireland on their Tidal Wave tour in celebration of their new album Tidal Wave. The band will be joined by Frank Iero and The Patience bringing a more punk vibe to the tour. Not only have the band released dates for the new tour in celebration of their 7th album which is being released this Friday, Taking Back Sunday have also released the lyric video for ‘Death Wolf’ which is the opening track on their new album.

If ‘Death Wolf’ is the opening track for the bands new album we can’t wait to hear what the rest of the album holds. However with only 3 days to wait here is what we love about the lyric video for the opening track and can only hope for even better.

  1. The opening of the video just seems to be a video of a picnic and that’s exactly what it is, no frills , no fancy effects, just having a chat with food and a pint; a pint which is suspiciously swapped around… bad beer?

  2. So many recent lyric videos express the creative aspect of how the words can be portrayed. Taking Back Sunday has no aim to take the creativeness away from the music, the lyrics are just displayed at the bottom like subtitles for a foreign movie, they’re there if you want to look at them but don’t distract you from the overall scene. It is very refreshing.

  3. Shameless plug alert! The vinyl they’re displaying in the video just so happens to be Tidal Wave, the new album they are releasing this Friday, coincidence I think not. Absolutely brilliant though, otherwise just a laid back approach which is fresh in a busy world full of distractions.

‘Death Wolf’ is a great taster for what’s to come one the whole album and from what can be heard Taking Back Sunday have produced some heavier riffs with deceiving sections and moments of mellowness. Let’s see if this carries on throughout the album, but for now check out the lyric video for ‘Death Wolf’ below.
