So it’s nearly time for us all to celebrate another year ending. Hopefully 2014 has brought you a few new favourite bands that you’ll be following for the next few years, but if it hasn’t do not worry. 2015’s breed of indie is just as promising (if not more so). Across the new year period we will be bringing you HTF Indie’s top tips for acts who have the potential to steal your musical hearts away.
Formed only in 2013 Liverpudlian quartet, Circa Waves have already managed to cause an explosion of hype. Made up of singer/guitarist Kieran Shudall, Sam Rourke(bass), Sian Plummer(drums) and Joe Falconer(guitar) the band have already released a handful of singles and are geared up to release their debut album ‘Young Chasers’ next March.
With the same Merseyside love for a pop hook that has served so many Liverpudlian acts like The Wombats, Cast and some underground beat combo called The Beatles, Circa Waves can most certainly write a single. ‘Get Away‘, ‘So Long‘ and ‘Stuck In My Teeth‘ have already caused quite a stir, the latter being one of Zane Lowe’s “hottest records in the world“.
They have already supported indie-royalty like Phoenix and The Libertines, won over crowds playing most of the worlds biggest festivals and have to play secret warm-up shows due to their huge popularity. Basically Circa Waves are the firm favourites to be ‘the’ indie band of 2015!
Check out their latest single ‘Fossils‘ and be bowled over by the spiky verses and killer chorus, kinda like The Wombats used to write, before they fell into a creative hole.
