Jessica Chastain has had a busy couple of years. After breaking through onto the scene in 2011, she has starred in 13 films in 3 years and is now in talks to play one of the most iconic screen sirens in history, Marilyn Monroe.
According to reports, Chastain is close to agreeing a deal to play Norma Jean in Andrew Dominik’s fourth film, Blonde. It will be an adaptation of the biography by Joyce Oates of the same name and will be produced by Brad Pitt who has worked with Dominik on his previous two films Killing Them Softly and The Assassination of Jesses James by the Coward Robert Ford.
The script has also been penned by Dominik and he has said that it will be a “sprawling, emotional nightmare, fairy-tale type movie” which interestingly sounds like it could be much more than just a straight forward biopic.
Blonde is set to begin filming this summer and has a release date of 2015.
