The Inbetweeners 2 has become the most successful UK film of 2014 so far after the box office opening takes £12.5m across the UK and Ireland since its release on Wednesday. They also took the record for best comedy opening night with £2.7m on the first day.
The story follows the gang in a similar concept to the first one, with Will, Simon and Neil reuniting to visit Jay in Australia. So far the film has received mixed but mainly positive reviews.
Many fans of the awkward lads will be disappointed to hear that it is probably the last adventure we will see of them, with Will actor Simon Bird saying: “Once you see the film you’ll see it feels like they’ve all moved on with their lives, so unfortunately this is it. It’s a great way of saying goodbye.”
