Welsh raga-rockers Skindred were Breakout Festival’s headline act and they sure know how to create a party atmosphere. Surely everyone knows what Skindred are about and if not we genuinely don’t know where you’ve been hiding for the last decade or so. Tonight is all about having fun as Benji parades around a large Union Jack flag and preaches about there being “No Christians. No Muslims. No Jews. No Blacks. No Gays. Just Skindred”; they are a band who know how to involve everyone.

That’s the only negative we could possibly say about the mighty Skindred; that there’s minimal change in their performance. Don’t get us wrong they’re always good but for a headline slot we’d have liked to have seen a little more after the lights dimmed. Although the crazy pulsing crowd and shapes they throw add a hell of a lot to the atmosphere.

Benji shouts out for his “gangja smokers” before launching into more of the set. The crowd come for the music but stay for the party. As the set closes and people lower down their t-shirts it’s safe to say Breakout Festival was a true success.
