Review: My Little Empire – Bound To Nowhere (Album)

HTF reviews My Little Empire’s debut album ‘Bound To Nowhere’.

Band: My Little Empire
Release: Bound To Nowhere (Album)
Release Date: Out Now

Indie rockers My Little Empire are a four-piece from South Herts formed in 2010. They cite their main influences as Foo Fighters and Kids In Glass Houses. This is certainly evident on their album ‘Bound To Nowhere’, and by no means in a bad way!

From the opening track ‘Bound To Nowhere’ their sound just gets stronger and stronger. Their collection of effortlessly catchy tunes offers what I’d like to call easy listening. The album has a strong mix of powerful vocals, great guitar riffs and a good blend of pop-rock and slightly more indie tracks.

One of the strongest tunes, ‘I Will Still Be There’, stands out as a pop-rock classic, whereas ‘Thought You Were The One’ strips down to a much rawer sound with a beautifully crafted melody.

This band would sit nicely among the seasoned pros at Reading/Leeds Festival. It’s a fantastic debut effort, so this album will hopefully get them far.
