Review: We Found Out – Self Titled (EP)

Check out what we thought of We Found Out’s self titled EP here!

Glaswegians We Found out’s debut self titled EP is three tracks of beautifully addictive pop punk, built up with sweet riffs and dual vocals. First track ‘Three Summers’ kicks off the perfect harmonies of Emjay and Grant’s vocals as they echo off each other. As the vocals layer up and the guitars cascade in twangs the track spurs into bouts of ‘ohs’ that would have any crowd singing and clapping along. We Found Out are a definite crowd pleaser, ticking every box and pulling on every pop punk motif entirely wholeheartedly.

Anthem of the EP ‘Never Meant To Be’ uses the opposing vocals to teeter up with pacing drums till an evocative uproar instigates air grabbing lyrics. As the track continues we are again pulled up by We Found Out’s bang on songwriting, each beat, strum and word form part of the perfect pop punk equation that has left every track lodged firmly in our heads. Final song on the self titled EP is ‘Butterflies’, starting off acoustic and heartfelt the track is simple and sweet incorporating instruments and erupting in ‘woahs’ and evocative rasping vocals pulling off every pop punk notion possible to pull off one hell of a debut EP.

Although the tracks feel a little Americanised We Found Out’s debut self titled EP is an insanely addictive bundle of tracks that reflect solid and strong song writing. With a little Scottish twang and bigger and stronger sounds we are sure that no crowd would be left standing still without a ‘woah’ coming from their mouths.

We cannot wait to hear what they have to come in the new year.
