So if the first album delight ‘Thank You’ was not good enough for you, then new album offering ‘Heavy In The Day’ from rock quartet Canterbury is about to blow your mind. Expect intoxicating melodies galore with rocking choruses and top notch song writing laced perfectly throughout all twelve beautifully crafted tracks.
This is a real album to be proud of on their part and will no doubt shove them directly into the limelight. It is going to be more than interesting to see where this album is going to take them, and already reaching #1 in the UK rock charts upon its release date, we are sure it’s going to take them to a great place.
The album is overflowing with freshly squeezed musical talent fresh from these guys’ minds. The lyrical content is clever in places and easily remembered, a trait all good music needs; a sure guarantee of their success to come. Anything that has ingenious content is definitely going to do well.
The obvious mentions go for single releases ‘Ready Yet?’ and ‘Saviour’, absolute belters! Canterbury have always had the ability to make the listener dance and become overly captivated by their music, so the choice in single releases is foolproof. Then you have the likes of ‘She’s A Flame’, a dulcet ballad with beautiful vocals and the ability to make the listener feel the emotion within the track: it really is quite something.
The favourite track for us though is ‘Gloria’, uplifting and striking from every angle. It simply sheds tears of awesome in every way! ‘Drive.Ride.Drive’ gets another mention due to its ultimate smash hit-like tendencies, so many exciting singalong parts, twangy guitars and overexcited drumming.
Overall there really is nothing more to say than go and buy this album right now and help an overly talented British band make the big time they deserve.
