Review: A World Defined – Welcome In This Feeling (EP)

A World Defined have put their new EP “Welcome In This Feeling” up for free download! But what did we think of it?

Band: A World Defined
Release: Welcome In This Feeling EP
Release Date: 06/02/12
For Fans Of: Thrice, Circa Survive, Decoder, Alexisonfire

In our day and age we are blessed. The standard of music available to us is at an all-time high, which is something we should all be grateful for. This unfortunately, for most musicians, makes it an extremely difficult task for a band to produce an EP that in only four tracks will engage you, excite you and uplift you, but most importantly, make you listen.

Welcome In This Feeling’ by Derby quintet, A World Defined does just that. It holds a perfect blend of melody and anarchy that will leave you wanting more and more.

The guitar work from Jordan Arnold and Alex Sumner is flawlessly executed and perfectly backed up by the well planned and beautifully delivered drumming of Harry Gavuzzi.

Guest vocalist Aidy Lennox’ vocals are brilliantly diverse. The singing is well varied and the screaming is chaotic, but both are perfectly balanced with each other.

Make sure to listen to opening track ‘Welcome To Barrow (Top Of The World)’ and the finishing titled track ‘Welcome In This Feeling’, both are outstanding tracks that show that A World Defined are more than worth keeping an eye out for in the future.
